Rockets Defeat Oakland 9-4 March 28th, 2007 By Staff Toledo defeated Oakland University 9-4 in a baseball game at Scott Park yesterday. Drew Hoisington hit two home runs to lead the Rockets. Toledo (7-9) will play at Ohio State (13-3)this afternoon at 2:00pm. The gate proceeds from the game today will go to two funds that have been established for the Bluffton University baseball team, who were involved in a fatal charter bus accident in Atlanta, GA on March 2nd. UT/OSU Gate Proceeds to Bluffton University March 27th, 2007 By Staff The Ohio State athletic department has announced that the gate proceeds from their home opener on Wednesday (3/28/07) against Toledo will go to two funds that have been established for the Bluffton University baseball team. Toledo (6-9) will take on Ohio State (13-3) at 2:00pm on Wednesday. The two funds were established for the Bluffton University baseball team's student-athletes involved in a fatal charter bus accident on March 2nd in Atlanta, GA while on their way down to Florida for a baseball tournament. One fund will provide support for the student-athletes and one is to create a lasting memorial on the Bluffton University campus. Rockets Prepare for Conference Opener March 22nd, 2006 By Brian Nowicki Toledo's game against Dayton, scheduled for this afternoon, has been cancelled due to a snowstorm. The Rockets, 7-6 on the season, will now prepare for the MAC and home opener against the Miami Redhawks this Friday. The Rockets host Miami at 3pm on Friday, 1pm on Saturday, and 1pm on Sunday. All three games are at Scott Park. Toledo started the season 7-3, with wins over Villanova (Big East), UCONN (Big East), and Penn State (Big Ten). However, they were swept three straight games at Missouri State last week. Toledo still plays at Ohio State, at Michigan, and at Notre Dame later in the year, but most of the remaining schedule consists of conference games. |
