Toledo Wins Motor City Bowl!
Chester Taylor finished his career at Toledo with a bang as he rushed for 190 yards helping the Toledo Rockets to a 23-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Motor City Bowl. Taylor broke the record for yards rushing in a Motor City Bowl game. Cincinnati led 13-3 at halftime and UT quarterback Tavares Bolden was not very sharp, but in the end Bolden and Taylor's senior leadership shined through.

At times during the season, Toledo's defense was being questioned, but late in the 4th quarter the Rocket defense stopped Cincinnati on 4th down on an incomplete pass in the end zone with the help of a very loud UT crowd. Attendance at the game was near 45,000.

Toledo Wins MAC Championship!
Chester Taylor ran for 188 yards and two touchdowns as the Toledo Rockets defeated the 18th ranked Marshall Thundering Herd to win the 2001 MAC Championship Game. Toledo will play in the Motor City Bowl against a team yet to be determined on December 29th on ESPN. Congratulations to the Toledo Rockets and first year Head Coach Tom Amstutz on winning the 2001 MAC Championship.
