By Brian Nowicki This Saturday is homecoming and the Central Michigan Chippewas are in town. After dropping 11 straight to the Rockets, Central Michigan defeated Toledo 21-17 in Mount Pleasant last year. Toledo had a chance late in the game, but failed on a couple of 4th and goal conversions and then a last second pass was just a little to high for wide receiver Nick Moore to catch. The Rockets will be looking for revenge in an important MAC West showdown Saturday night. Toledo is 0-1 in conference play after losing at Western Michigan earlier in the year. Central Michigan is 2-0 in conference play. Gametime is scheduled for 7:00PM EST. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU. Matt Devlin will have the play by play with Chris Martin as the analyst. Unfortunately ESPNU is not carried on Buckeye Cablesystem. The game can also be heard on WSPD AM1370 with Mark Beier doing the play-by-play, former UT quarterback AJ Sager as color analyst, and Brad Fanning on the sidelines. Pregame on WSPD begins at 4:00PM. This will be Toledo's 76th Homecoming game. The Rockets are 53-22 in Homecoming games and the last loss was to Eastern Michigan in 1999. The weather forecast is calling for highs in the mid-60's with sunny skies. There should be a great crowd, so come early. Central Michigan Game Comments Coach Amstutz: On CMU in general - "The Central Michigan coaching staff has done a great job. There's a lot of pride and tradition at Central Michigan." On CMU as a team - "Central Michigan has a lot of talent. They have depth and are executing at a very high level." On CMU QB Daniel LeFevour - "He's a very good football player. He's very athletic and a good all around player." CMU Head Coach Brian Kelly: On playing Toledo - "We hope we can turn this into a rivalry football game." On UT running back Jalen Parmele - "Parmele, in my opinion, is one of the most physical backs in the league." On the UT defense - "They are not a traditional defense. They really can cause a lot of confusion." On CMU DE Dan Bazuin and CMU RB Ontario Sneed who both missed their last game - "Dan Bazuin and Ontario Sneed will play."
