Construction began on Glass Bowl stadium in 1936 and was finished in 1937. The stadium has been renovated many times over the years. In 1990, a new press tower was constructed and additional seating was added to bring it to the current capacity of 26,248.
The Rockets have a 241-106-8 record in the Glass Bowl through the 2005 season. They have also won 34 of the last 36 games in the Glass Bowl.
The largest crowd in Glass Bowl history was 36,852 in a game against Navy on October 27th, 2001. The record crowd also broke the MAC attendance record. The previous MAC attendance record was also the previous Glass Bowl record. 36,502 fans filled the Glass Bowl earlier in the year for a game against Northern Illinois.
